4/20/21

Just had a wonderful 2 night stay at The Rustic Ridge Winery in Burlington Flats, NY. Their wine label is made nearby at a local winery but they have a lovely gift shop and wine tastings and their place sits on 300 acres of farmland. Penny was THRILLED to have open spaces to roam and needed this stop to become totally reinvigorated (as did we!!). Next door to the Winery is the owner's son's new brewery, High Burl Brewery, which is waaaayyyy cool and has yummy beer. He decorated the place with repurposed wood from his barn etc...and it was nice to be able to support the local small guy! He even let me borrow a half growler to take back to the trailer (since we were technically still on their grounds). Our spot on their grassy area behind the winery was perfect and we were able to get some much needed Vitamin D and exhale... (And did I mention how much Penny liked the walks??!!!)

On 4/19 we went to the Baseball Hall of Fame because, well, if we were going to be near Cooperstown, NY...I MUST GO THERE!!! Plus, I figured that my boys had won a few more World Championships since I was there last (in 2005) and I had to enjoy that! Unfortunately, the only acknowledgment of said championships was in the display of the World Series rings but the museum is still great and impressive and fun to explore. We spent 3 hours there and enjoyed it - even though it was a little freaky being in a deserted Cooperstown when I had only previously been there during the summertime (and not during a damn *^%# pandemic).

Meet my blog setter-upper-helper...

RoRo The Wonder Dog saved me when I thought I couldn't get this blog going! He abandoned me years ago when he and his sister, Yuka, and his people moved away. But he was there for me when I needed him!
